I’m feeling a little bittersweet about Christmas this year because it’s mine and Timmer’s first Christmas in Europe, but that also means it’s our first Christmas away from family. I’m starting to feel a liiiittle homesick, and am really missing my friends and family. However, it’s our first year with a big home (vs. our tiny Atlanta apartment), and it’s the first year we’ll have a formal dining room (see post here). I was so excited to arrange my first Christmas tablescape. The simple decor is relatively cheap, and everything can be found at Amazon or Target and your local outdoor store. Just sharing in case any of you are in need of some last minute ideas for your Christmas table!
Table Runner: I knew I wanted a plaid table runner in the center. I was planning on buying this runner from Amazon, but once we went through our Christmas storage boxes, I found some old placemats from Target. I pushed them together and viola – a homemade table runner.
Plates: I got these red and gold chargers on sale from the BX on base, but they sell similar ones at the dollar store. These are also great options! I layered on a simple dinner plate, this appetizer plate, and this bowl from Target. Hearth & Hand with Magnolia – I love you.
Centerpiece: Fresh greenery is the easiest way to step up your table game. These two bunches of fresh evergreens were less than $3 at Toom, our version of Home Depot. I added a few sprigs of berries from an old bunch of faux greenery from Michael’s, plus a few pine cones. Throw in some gold votives, a tiny table Christmas tree (from Target’s dollar section), and a pair of winter lanterns, and you’ve got yourself a beautiful Christmas table.
What are some of your favorite ways to decorate your tables for Christmas?
